I work as a Wildfire Catastrophe Risk Manager for a Fortune 100 property insurance provider. My job centers on managing and monitoring the wildfire risk across the U.S. and working to provide wildfire mitigation information to our members and agents – helping to make their homes and businesses more resilient to wildfire. I provide risk assessment and defensible space consultation for our members.
I am a member of NFPA and serve on the Technical Committee for Wildland and Rural Fire Protection. The committee is responsible for NFPA 1141, 1142, and 1144.
I also work closely with the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS) on wildfire topics, and serve as a member of their Residential Committee.
In September 2015 I participated as an Insurance SME on the pilot for the USFS- Community Mitigation Assistance Team (CMAT) assigned to the Chelan Complex Wildfire in the state of Washington. I’ve since joined the team as a member and have participated in assignments in Colorado and North Carolina.
