Chris is the Fire Mitigation & Education Specialist for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)- Montana/Dakotas Office of Fire and Aviation Management . He has worked in fire management for nearly three decades serving volunteer, municipal, county and federal agencies. Chris has worked with the public and stakeholders to promote fire education and mitigation strategies, as well as support regional and state wildfire coalitions. Chris is a member of Wildfire Research (WiRē) – an interdisciplinary collaboration focused on homeowner wildfire risk mitigation and community wildfire adaptation. His research interests include public perception of wildfire risk, homeowners’ attitudes towards wildfire mitigation, and communities’ adaptation to wildfire.
