The specific purpose of the non-profit is to provide fire prevention and safety education for the public, to pool resources and aid members of the community in providing effective fire prevention measures in and around the Corral Canyon area of Malibu, California, and to partner with the local fire authorities to help aid in fire safety.
Harden Your Home
Our organization is working with the Malibu City Fire Safety Liaison on the Home Ignition Zone Assessment Program. This program is to help residents harden their homes against flying embers, a major cause of homes catching fire during wildfires. Trained volunteers will evaluate the home and suggest ways to make it led vulnerable to ignition from embers in a wind-driven fire.
Wildfire Action Plan
We are working to organize neighborhoods into teams to share knowledge and resources to first responders.
Installing Yard Hydrants, fire equipment deployed in accessible containers, local maps showing water sources, pumps and generators. We are also helping neighborhoods develop escape routes and temporary refuge areas.
Annual Community Fire Preparedness Fair
It is a community effort to help raise wildfire awareness, promote collaboration to work on projects that can help protect homes, neighborhoods, and entire communities from future wildfire risk or current post-fire impact.
