The mission of the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is proudly serving our community by delivering superior public safety and public service. Emergency Management is a function included within the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Special Services Unit. We use an all-hazard, countywide approach to minimize the impact of natural and human-caused incidents. We identify hazards; develop emergency, mitigation, and recovery plans; coordinate response activities, and train personnel. Deschutes County may be subject to a variety of natural and human-caused hazards and threats – wildfire being one of the more prominent. Many people and organizations are needed to promote emergency preparedness, respond to incidents, and plan for recovery should we experience a wildfire disaster. DCSO Emergency Management staff understand that relationships are the foundation of successful Emergency Management. We aim to create, deepen, and maintain meaningful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. We love to learn and look forward to interacting with FAC Learning Network members and affiliations in order to “help society live safely with fire”.
