Michelle is the Manager of Stewardship and Research at Fontenelle Forest who uses prescribed fire in and around Omaha, NE. Our prescribed burns are conducted in the wildland-urban interface, so public outreach and communication with the communities are priorities. We conduct small-scale outreach to immediate neighbors, as well as engage media to help us reach a larger audience. We will be holding our first Fire Fest in July, 2019, as an outreach event to promote understanding of the importance of prescribed fire for habitat resilience.
