The Mount Shasta Bioregional Ecology Center is dedicated to protecting and restoring the renown ecosystems and watershed around Mount Shasta, the Medicine Lake Highlands, and beyond. We have been working with the communities of southern Siskiyou County since 1988. Our programs focus on watershed protection, native species enhancement, and environmental education. We believe that partnerships are critical to successful, long-term landscape scale restoration. Our FAC work centers around educating our community on the ecological benefits of fire as a natural ecosystem process in California and increasing the utilization of prescribed fire as a tool for both restoration and community protection.

Bioregional Prescribed Burn Association

We are partnering with our local landowners and supportive agencies and organizations to develop a prescribed burn association for our area. Our goal is to increase education around and access to prescribed fire on private lands for fuels reduction, community protection, and ecosystem restoration.
