I am a retired registered nurse which gives me excellent assessment and communication skills. I am a volunteer with our local non-profit emergency readiness group VERG – Valley Emergency Readiness Group and we educate and organize neighbors to be prepared for emergencies – my particular interest is wildland fire as I live in the forest. I took a two-day course from NFPA in July called “Assessing Structures for Wild Land Fire Ignition Potential” and am in the process of becoming a Certified Wildland Fire Mitigation Specialist. I also volunteer with the Marin County Fire Department vegetation and fuels management program and FireWiseMarin. My main focus is to educate and motivate home owners to initiate, maintain and continue to expand their HIZ and Defensible Space.
