Social Media Commenting Policy

FAC Net is at its heart a community for the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and perspectives and that extends to our social media accounts. This page explains a bit more about how to interact with FAC Net on social media and what you can expect from us.  Stories on the FAC Net blog include a wide variety of perspectives and include successes, lessons learned, resources, and even failures related to community wildfire resilience. Posts are written by diverse practitioners around the world and a published post does not necessarily indicate an endorsement by FAC Net, network members, or funders. While posts are edited for clarity and length, stories are from the author’s own perspective and voice. We strive to create an open learning environment where a variety of perspectives can be heard. Please contact us with ideas and feedback.

We reserve the right to delete any comments or block users that fall outside of our values and guidelines outlined below:

  • Always be kind and courteous – treat everyone with respect and do not attack another commenter at any time.
  • Refrain from hate speech, bullying, and profanity – our pages are safe spaces and harassment or hate speech of any kind will not tolerated.
  • Stay on topic – relevancy to FAC Net’s work and what we’ve shared is expected.
  • No promotions or spam – no self-promotion or irrelevant links will be permitted.
  • Respect privacy – do not share sensitive or private content or that of others without permission. See our Privacy Policy.
  • Respect intellectual property and written works – do not plagiarize or share content like photos without permission from FAC Net.
  • Connect and LEARN – we are a network and as such want to set the table for meaningful connections and learning opportunities, the more we learn from each other the more we are working towards living better with fire.

Thank you for engaging with FAC Net on our social media channels and our blog.
